Mandarin Language Education: About the Founder

Meet Rosa — the heart behind Bouncing Panda

Bouncing Panda was born from a simple belief: that the best time to learn a language, including Mandarin classes for children, is when you're too young to be afraid of getting it wrong. This approach aligns with the principles of cultural diversity in education and emphasizes the importance of early childhood language programs.

Rosa's Story

From a love of language to a love of teaching

Rosa Luo grew up with Mandarin as her first language and knows first-hand the doors it opens — in cultural diversity in education, in connection, and in confidence. When she became a parent herself, she sought out early childhood language programs that would suit young children: ones that were playful, age-appropriate, and genuinely engaging. Unable to find the ideal option, particularly Mandarin classes for children that met her expectations, she decided to create it herself.

A qualified early childhood educator

Rosa holds a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and has over 5 years of experience working with young children, as well as more than 15 years of experience teaching Chinese. Her Mandarin classes for children are grounded in early childhood best practices, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and designed by someone who understands how young children learn best—through play, repetition, music, and movement. Rosa also emphasizes cultural diversity in education, ensuring that her early childhood language programs are inclusive and enriching for all students.

What Rosa brings to every class

Every session Rosa delivers is carefully planned, warmly facilitated, and adapted to the age and energy of the children in the room. She incorporates elements of cultural diversity in education through songs, games, stories, puppets, movement, and cultural celebrations to make her Mandarin classes for children feel natural — not foreign. Her early childhood language programs don't just teach language; they build curiosity, confidence, and a genuine love of learning.

Grounded in early childhood best practice

Bouncing Panda’s programs are aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and support the National Quality Standard (NQS), particularly Quality Area 6 (Collaborative partnerships with families and communities) and Element 1.1.2 (A child‑centred program that values culture and diversity). This commitment to cultural diversity in education ensures that every Mandarin class for children is intentionally designed to help early learning centres demonstrate cultural inclusion while supporting children’s development across five key learning outcomes:

Identity — children feel safe, connected, and part of the group

Community — children develop respect for others and cultural awareness

Wellbeing — physical activity and emotional expression are central to every session

Learning — curiosity and exploration are encouraged in every activity

Communication — language development is at the heart of what we do

By choosing Bouncing Panda, early education services can confidently embed authentic cultural diversity into their early childhood language programs while meeting regulatory expectations under the NQS.
